Live trading example above is the AUD/USD 5 minute timeframe. Long entry at 0.7052. Place stop-loss just below the most recent key support level at 0.7034.
Price objective method 1: I am a big fan of risk-to-reward 1:2 or even better. In the example above, it means that the profit target should be placed at 0.7088.
Risk on the trade: 18 pips (entry level – stop level). Target: 18 pips x 2 = 36 pips above the entry price. Target price: 0.7052 + 0.0036 = 0.7088.
Price objective method 2: Close the long trade just before it reaches resistance levels (R1, R2, R3).
Tip 1: Your chances of success increase significantly if you go long the first buy signal issued in a bullish trend, or otherwise go short the first sell signal issued in a bearish trend.
Tip 2: In uptrends, it’s recommended to place your stop-loss below key support levels. In downtrends, it’s recommended to place your stop-loss above key resistance levels.
Tip 3: You should always use a minimum 1:2 win/loss ratio. The higher the risk/reward ratio you choose, the less often you need to correctly predict market direction in order to make money trading.
